Help us improve our SEO Tool
Hi everyone, as we mention in our customized search engine optimization (SEO) reports, the SEO game is constantly changing and there are literally thousands of web page aspects that could be analyzed. However, we want to open up this page to hear feedback and suggestions. Did you discover any bugs in the report? Did you notice anything that we should be aware of? We certainly don't claim to be experts in the field and welcome any and all input. It is our goal to keep the SEO tool free and as helpful as possible. We know how frustrating SEO can be...
Cheers,

Hey Helpful Networks, thanks for the tool and for making it free.
One question, I noticed that on some of my keywords a red warning showed up saying "OOP WARNING: above 5%" or something like that. What is that? I didn't see any explanation...
Also, is there any way to make it less crowded or provide a simple, small-scale tool that essentially shows the "Overview" section of the report?
Thanks!

I noticed that you analyzed keyword density and gave us results in each of the alts, anchors, tags, etc... but you gave little explanation as to why you did so... How do you know that search engines use content from these different tags based on isolated keyword density? How do they factor into placement on SERPs?

Thank you both for your feedback -
'new to SEO' -- The OOP (Over-Optimization Penalty) warning is to warn you of keywords that are above 5% because there is plenty of evidence that OOP adversely affects SERP placement. Do some searches for over-optimization and you'll find some helpful reading, but we've found that a very informative page is
http://www.vaughns-1-pagers.com/internet/google-ranking-factors.htm
Also, we are working on developing smaller-scale tools but wanted to get the mothership built first. We'll keep you posted!
James C. -- Check out the above URL and follow the thought trails and links. You are right about the lack of explanation, we'll work on that - as for your comment "how do you know that search engines use...." - the truth is we don't :) No one really does. So we decided to cover our bases and give a comprehensive report so SEOs can run with their own SEO theory and use this tool as a reference.
Thanks!

Amazing site! And it's FREE? That scares an ol' broad, but I intend to keep coming back. The SEO Tool is the best on-line tools I've used! Thanks a million!

Thanks for the kind words. The more we learn about SEO, especially for Google, the more we understand that OOP is a real threat; over-optimizing your pages can do real harm. MSN seems to love pages that push the limit (so called gray-hat SEO), but we're going to make some changes in the discussion of our tool so people don't go overboard optimizing all their content.
The best advice is to make good pages - and only link to pages with related content (as much as possible). Auntie Google, you're singin' the same song. 'Glad we can help.
